Phillips Brewing is a small artisan brewery based in Victoria, BC. The project involved a redesign of their existing website using a crafty style and accommodating for new features including an interactive beer locator and a video game which spoofed Nintendo’s classic Duck Hunt.

Using a combination of hand-drawn and photographic elements along with photographic textures and character illustrations from their existing collateral, I designed a fun template that supported their brand and created a set of sprites for the Phoenix Hunt game. Implementation of the design was handled by a team of developers who I work with closely.

The Taste Festival is an annual celebration of food and wine from British Columbia. I began working with Taste in their first year, developing their logo and styleguide, then designing supporting collateral including their website, advertising, posters, signage, and programs. I used colour and photography to allude to the textures, smells, and visual sensations that accompany fine food.

Mark Anthony Brands is a Canadian importer of wine, beer, and specialty beverages. My work with them has included advertisements for national and regional magazines, billboards, point of sale signage, and other promotional materials.

Projects often required me to quickly familiarize myself with a brand’s style and brand promise in order to create designs that fit with the product’s existing collateral and branding. In many cases I was required to find creative visual solutions when supporting brand collateral (such as photography) was scarce.

The Mint is a restaurant and lounge that serves Nepalese and fusion foods. It was important to me that the designs reflect the strong visual presence created by the restaurant’s rich colors, textures, art, and signage.

Using photographic components from the restaurant’s space I was able to create a website and advertisements that communicated the warm, intimate feel of the restaurant and menu covers that tied in to their surroundings.

The British Columbia Association of Institutes and Universities is an organization that lobbies on behalf of educational facilities. They needed materials that reflected the clean, modern style of their existing branding and that was accessible to the multiple target audiences while pleasing stakeholders from their member institutions.

In a city with more than 1200 real estate agents, it was necessary to be bold to make an individual stand out. Chris wanted to create a unique brand that would not only set him apart, but provide him with room to bring in other agents and possibly even open franchises in other cities. The approach needed to be both personal and extendable, as did all the materials that went along with it.

Gorge Hill

Gorge Hill is a development of luxury condominiums. The developers and real estate agent needed a website, signage, and supporting print materials to promote and sell units both during development and after the development’s completion. I used photography of the local amenities and architectural mock-ups to lend substance to a product that was not yet available to be seen in person.
